Dilemma - which car to choose?
Soon to become a family man in 4 months and ticking, I've had to move my beloved 94 STI to someone who'll car for it like his own.
Now, I was all set for a late Accord Type R - last of the 98-02 cars, or the facelifted version. Prices seem to be 10K - 12K. Nice car, reliable, 4 doors, nippy enough, excellent spec.
Saw a P1 - yes, I know 2 door monster - but the bird said she'd be cool with it. Prices seem to be 14K-18K. Love the car, but wonder if its too like my old car shape to truly appreciate it. But then its a P1!!
Then though about a blobeye 03 WRX (theres a good euro spec one in the FS section) - 4 doors, excellent price, nice looks, 13K ish off top of my head.
I'm getting worse as I need to choose something and the choices in my head seem to be widening everyday
What would you choose? Or would you get something else. Sensible answers please

Wagon. Absolutely not a 2-door unless you intend to put the baby seat in the front - leaning in and bending over with a baby is supposed to be no joke, especially as baby grows and gets heavier. If P1 is like RB5 and Terzo, the back seats won't fold forward either, so you can't get any long stuff in the boot.
Or evil Legacy?

Never a truer word spoken my friend.
I really need someone to slap me about the face and tell me what to get. A P1 is still a very real option - point taken about the baby lifting bit, but bird is getting a 4 door family mobile.
I'm away to look at Parkers for the 20th time today. Bet I end up with a BMW or summit?

Thanks for the replys guys.
I think the ATR seems the best all rounder (only if the RB5 rear seats dont fold as mentioned - that was my Plan B car LOL!!).
Like the idea of the Legacy as well. Strangely attracted.

I moved from a WRX classic to an Accord Type-R about 6 months ago. I'll try to sum-up my thoughts in a few lines but I'm afraid it's not a clear yes or no!
The ATR is a better looking, less aggressive car which is probably important if you're a family man, it's cabin is of better quality and you get more kit on most cars. It will not pull like your scoob does and you will miss that. The engine is very 'reviie' with power coming after 5750 rpm.... while that can be more rewarding when you work it just right (I have dropped my brother's Impreza Turbo when my VTEC is on song!), it is far less usable than the scoob. If you're not expecting it (ie in the wrong gear) expect to struggle to keep up with all sorts of inferior machinery. Handling is however better than the wrx, the steering is more precise with better feel and there is much less understeer. It turns in exceptionally well for a big car.
Overall I feel the combination isn't ideal, at times the engine feels wonderul when the VTEC technology kicks in but it should be in a hot hatch (CTR) or roadster (S2000) I'm just not sure it feels smooth or torquey enough for an executive saloon.
Hope this helps.
