Nop engine fine...
the quarters are marginally slower tha RCs,but simon is fitting a line lock to eliminate creeping than he should quite comfortably make the 9s...

heres the engine spec...(Low Lag) 730Hp & 609LbFt @ 2.1 bar, Klotz race Fuel, 2.2 ND Engine, GT3542 turbo, Holinger H pattern custom dog box with Ikeya sequential shifter.
And this car can go round corners as well before anyone asks!!!!

isn't simon the norris the one who just bought the equipment in in bulk from someone like HKS and didn't actually do the development of the engine himself.
I recall speaking to him about ecus and he simply kept telling me that a piggy back'd motec is the only way to do it with external boost controllers.
Regardless of the above, amazing numbers!
Does anyone know the bearing size on the evo as I would love to know how close it is to the limit.
if 10.4 equates to sub 6 second 0-100, I wonder what andy F must be doing.
~Would be nice to compare how much each has spent in getting there too!

Adam, I think they are JUN parts that are used. Seen the video of the Norris car doing this and its bloody quick
Also seen the RC car at Santapod race against Caterham, the Caterham got away quicker but the RC Evo caught it, passed it and managed a 10.25 @ 143 MPH
Marvelous

Not jelous at all, I just don't get the whole drag strip thing.
Surely a car as capable as the Evo should be kicking *** on a proper track (one with corners )

It's not as quick on the 1/4 mile as the RC car, but then it has about 150bhp less (and uses a turbo that about 35% smaller than the T88 RC chose)
The RC car AFAIK hasnt run any 0-60 or 0-100 times or even any top speed stuff so the Norris car is faster in that respect. Rumour has it that it keeps letting go as well....
I was there yesterday with my Skyline (which wasn't running right) & watching that Evo just grip & go was obscene.
Also Rocket Ronnie was there in his R33 GTR - which also managed a 0-60 in 2.9 secs & topped out at 205.7mph. The only reason his didnt go faster was, quite simply he ran out of gears. a sub 3 second 0-60 in a car that weighs nearly 1700kgs is, quite franky obscene
Adam - the 10.4 1/4 mile is disproportionately slow, because with the Datron timing gear it starts recording when the car starts moving. Simon was holding the car on the handbrake & loading it up to be on boost but it was still creeping, causing the timing gear to start. He is fitting a 4 wheel line lock to eliminate this apparently for the Jap show @ Santa Pod & is very confident the car will run in the 9's
Was a good day out actually
