Question My bizzare scoob replacement...

Having decided to sell the scoob (MY97 STi3 Wagon) and replace with something cheap (ie sub £2k) to get from A to B, my mind has wandered from hot hatch to V12 XJS .

Today though, I have picked up a lovely 1960's coupe, wire wheels, 3 litre straight six under the bonnet and a woofly soundtrack.

Can you guess what it is?

Spot on.

But as with all these things, the budget got stretched northwards a bit.

Just got to liberate some more BHP and make it go round corners now

Wouldn't you have been better off with a B V8? The C was the last of the "straight line specials"

I'd be wanting to work on the breaks as much as the horses, can you fit those with brembos'?

A V8 would have been nice, but they are proper money for a tidy one.

As for the brakes, I'm going to have a chat with a guy I know who used to race an MGC, he must know how to slow the things down. I'm now on the lookout for a good set of minilite wheels for it, I'm sure there is space behind them to squeeze some decent 4 pot calipers.

Piccys to follow...
