Have a loko over on www.pistonheads.com gassing station. They are extremely capable cars, but they are fragile, and can have lots of 'little' niggles, such as the throttle or handbrake cable melting and seizing, ECU's packing up, trim fallnig off, all the small volume relatively small development budget problems you'd expect. Most owners feel the benefits outweigh the drawbacks though. It's a £50k car and servicing costs are in line with that...don't think it'll be cheap because it has a Ford sourced engine. For me, a friends set itself alight in Richmond after he'd had it for 1.5k miles...written off, the Autocar test cars wheel falling off and a few accounts of the seized throttle cable have put me off...shame really, perhaps if I were living next door to a service centre....

On the flip-side......M12 GTO was the car that did the rabbit-run this year - check out http://www.rabbit-run.co.uk/ under the "see the pictures from 2004" section.
Over 2,000 fairly hard driven miles & according to Mole Valley (the people who own this car & ran it in the event) it never missed a beat.
When looking for a replacement for my STi4, a GT0 3R & 996 were on the shortlist. Picked the 996 as it was a much better all round car (that could be used every day) but was very impressed with the 3R

I was fortunate enough to drive one around Hullavington airfield last week, also drove a 996 Turbo, the GTO would be the one for me every time, felt more 'alive' only niggle I had was lack of helmet room, (i'm 6"3') and very notchy bearbox!!
Other than that, where's me cheque book!!

Alot of money for a toy car...
I used to work for a company who designed and manufactured the M10 for Noble... that was ****e...
Then they came up with the M12 which is not worth the money, don't know how Noble and Moy sleep at night.... (apart from knowing they have ££££££'s in there bank account)

They do look good though. Saw a lovely one this morning in Welwyn Garden City
I could be tempted - but not as an everyday car. As Ro says - the 996 wins every time on that count.

A lad at work as a silver Noble - not sure which one it is - but he paid £57k for it 5 months ago and it's been in the garage for the last 2 months....something has gone pop....
he is not a happy bunny - he bought a volvo estate for running around in til it's fixed....
Quick but v. fragile seems to be the order of the day..
