Peugeot 205 GTi-6
Anyone know anyone with this conversion?
As you all know, my Mi16 unit is duff, but a GTi-6 engine has just come up for sale locally with 62k miles at £450.
Just wondering what would be involved in swapping as the 205gtidrivers site is down.

I thought you were going to try to add the 6 speed box into a 205, not possible without really naffing things up (possably just not possable due to its size) but id go for the 167bhp engine, it is good but look out for rocker covers as they do leak, and it is more tunable than the Mi16 engine at the end of the day.

Gutman Pug,
I have a mate who rally crosses a 205 (1.4 class).
He hit the barriers a few weeks back and badley damaged the bodywork.
He bought an old 1.9 GTI to reshell the rally car.
Engine is now sat on a pallet waiting to be disposed.
If you can collect it, you could probably have it for nowt (I'd need to confirm).
If your interested PM me.

DW,
Mi > GTi-6. Straight forward fit (engines are essentially very similar in dimensions/mountings). Some work on water hoses/exhaust downpipe. Re-wiring.
Watch out for locked ECU's.
Engine is heavier - Some claims of only 15Kg, but you'll know all about it trying to lift 1!! Weight is apparent when driving the car (although I guess that depends upon your perception..).

There's a company in Derby called Shenpar Competitions. They do everything involving Pugs ( rallying, engine conversions etc) http://www.shenpar.com/
