Corrado VR6 anyone?
Owned one of these for more than 4 years now, but since I bought the Scoob last year, it's sat around in a corner of the garage with a sheet over it. Didn't realise, logistically, how difficult it is to have 2 cars in your own name, (insurance, etc ). Don't really know what to do with it now, anyone fancy one of these?

I'll go through nothing short of trauma if I do sell it, but I hate seeing it not being used, very fond memories of driving this car! Not really a good enough reason to keep it though.

Historywise, book full of VW stamps, plus an A4 folder so full of invoices and receipts I can't close it properly. Car is stunning, wish I had a digi camera. It's done 110k all told , only 20k in the last 4 years though!!! Maintained regardless of common sense, as my other half never tires of repeating to anyone who'll listen.

Sorry, colour is called flash red, believe it or not, and it's a '93' on a 'K'. I've got another one in bits for spares, and a TSR big valve head, which I've had for a couple of years and haven't got around to fitting. Pricewise, don't know where to start, in all honesty. It's got a few other bits done to it, if anyone's interested, I'll post the details.

Depends how interested you are I'm not desperate to sell it, fortunately, so I wouldn't take a bid in the bo77ocks just to see the back of it, I like it enough to keep it rather than do that.....plus I've spent so much on it, that letting it go too cheaply really would be like a parting kick in the stones!! The trouble with VR6s is that they have an achilles heel....they glaze no.4 and/or no.6 cylinder. Mine did this, not long after purchase, and because the whole lot has to come apart to fix it, I replaced everything, I mean everything, that could be regarded as consumable, or a wear and tear item. That meant timing chains/tensioners, w/pump, clutch, rings, head rebuild, you name it, because I didn't want to have to strip again, for a different reason, a year down the line. I would advise anyone considering buying one of these at 80,000 miles or more to make sure this has already happened and be shown documentary evidence of repair, or to have about a grand out of the asking price, cos you'll be doing it if they haven't. Trust me, it's a well documented problem.
