I just changed my modified STi for a Boxster S - I owned a Corrado VR6 a few years back too.
Both great cars the Scooby & the VR6 - loved them both....but I wont be going back. Why play in the first division when you can play in the Premiership ?

Actually if you go over to the Boxster BBS its a little like the Scoobynet BBS was a few years back - ie full of very helpful enthusiasts - shame this board has gone so downhill.

Like all these thread it is often down to the driver and how hard they are willing to push their cars.

I blew off a flat-front 911 Turbo a few years back in my MY99 Turbo he gave it a bit but to be honest i think he would have 'done me up like a kipper' if he had been in the mood.

From experiance I can tell you that there is very little in it between an classic STi (280bhp) & a Boxster S when on the move.

Some people are a little "un-educated" !
I for one would know that the VR6's are rapid but many wouldn't - they probably see an L plate & think its gotta be slow as its a few years old.

I've got a C VR6 and have kept up with a normal boxster quite comfortably.

However, a std VR6 will NOT keep up with a Boxster S!

There is almost nothing between a Boxster S and a Honda S2000(which is what I have now) and I KNOW the S2000 is defo quicker than a VR6.

The Boxster was either
a) not going for it
b) REALLY crap driver behind the wheel (prob quite common )
c) really a std boxster with S bits added on

Even if it was a std Boxster, you'd not be able to 'blow away' the thing.

I think that while we all like to have a bit of a play there comes a point where any driver has to ask themselves:
Do I really want to sink to that idiots level and endanger the lives of other road users, just to prove that my hunk of metal goes faster than his?
Most sensible people will decide NO and back off, now who's made the bigger point?!

How did you get your mouth around the exhaust, it is quite large on the Boxster.

a drag on a dual carrageway when its dry and clear is no worries as far as I am concerned, ok Ill be honest here I reckon I was in a lower gear than Boxtser man as he reckoned hed not need to be in a lower gear to waste me, sooooo I get the jump on him and by that stage he cant catch me, they aint that fast

I have autocar that give 30-70 in 5.4 sec they say the Boxster S is around the same so you can see why I did the Boxster and also the Honda S is also the same speed 30 - 70 so S2000 aint quicker than my VR6 just the same

Trust me, the S2000 IS faster than the VR6. This is not a criticism of the VR6 (I love them, fantastic cars). I have both of them on my drive!
