Hi all,

May have the opportunity to up sticks to live/work in Holland so I may have the dilema as to what to do with my motor (Corrado VR6).
Advice/suggestions are welcome. Do I sell it or keep it and take it with me? Let a family member have it (I get it back when/if I come back)? If I take it to Holland, does anyone know if running a car is cheaper there? (i.e. insurance, parts etc.)
Anything else I need to be aware of?

I'd advise selling in UK as you'll get more for it in the UK than you would in Holland. Cars appear to be much cheaper in Europe second hand so you'll likely get a better car for the money in Holland. The hassle of getting it MOT'ed and Insured abroad is too much, based on my German experience with my motorcycle. Plus RHD is a pain in the neck at Car Parks and McDonalds
Its also depends on how long your going for, I believe Insurance companies will cover you for 3 months abroad but if you maintain a UK address then you could continue to insure it in the UK and use your time in Holland as a 'Holiday', however that is not really in the spirit of your insurance contract so may cause you problems. The longest I could get was 3 months and thats why I sold all 3 of our cars.

Cheers
Cammy
