1.6 16v k-series engine - how powerful?
#3
i think the k series has 122bhp (1.6) from doing a bit of research. Big col again i think your quoting the honda engine, which is 109 bhp and is coded D16 and i think is the A6, where the A9 is the DOHC block, found is crx's,civics and rover 200 gti's. (which has 134bhp in the crx unsure about the others.)

The 1.6 k series is 109 / 111hp in standard form from the factory, the 1.8k series in standard form develops around 120ish hp...
The 1.6 k series will not achieve over 120 unless it's tweaked

Hi
Have played about a lot with the k series.
As standard its 110bhp as everyone says.
With cams and decent map it will be 130bhp.
Light port and higher lift cams = 150bhp.
The standard inlet manifold is only good to about 150bhp.
If you want to see more than 150bhp you will need serious port, cams, valves, pistons, throttle bodies etc.
It is not too hard to get 200bhp from 1600cc K. I have seen 260bhp engine, 1700cc and sky high rev limit.
There is now a 2.0 K series in delvelopment - 250bhp as standard...
If you want any info on tuning PM me.
