Golf VR6 Milage
I have a 97 Golf Vr6 with 65K on the clock.
I have got o new job that means a 80 mile round trip to work for 19 days then 14 days off.
My questions are with all this extra milage plus my personel milage greatly effect the VR6?
What kind of milages can these do with out it all going wrong??
Anyone with experence of high milage VR6's?
Thanks
Scott

My VR6 has just turned 120k (1993 K) - from what I saw, mileage is not a problem on these cars, so long as they have been looked after/serviced properly.
At the moment mine is sitting out the back of my flat and doesn't start - no biggie, just the usual starter motor solenoid jam that is pretty common.... getting a new starter motor fitted today. Otherwise no problems!! Just keep checking the oil level as they use up quite a bit of it.... Mine is by no means smokey (on start up or drive) but uses about 0.75L of oil every 1000 miles!
Never thrash it until the engine is warmed up.
Have a look over on www.vr6Golf.co.uk for more info.....
