Cool M3 & a rather quick Scooby Type R

I trotted of to East Linton today to meet up with Sg72 so he could take me for a run in his 400bhp+ STI Type-R. We drove back to Haddington and about 3 miles in the journey he causually asks, 'have you any idea what kind of BM that is behind his'. I check round, clock the arches and bonnet bulge and mutter the magic term, M3

About a mile later the 60mph single lane road ended and following a roundabout the 70mph A1 begins. The M3 is sitting right on our tail and steve floors it in 2nd, 3rd, 4th.....you get the picture! The destruction was rather amusing - I wouldn't have believed a scooby could paste an M3 like that unless I saw it with my own eyes! We then slowed down for a van and he charged up behind us. At 65mph the van cleared and off we went again. Depsite the rolling start playing to the M3s strengths it still fell back rather rapidly What an experience - a lot of fun The M3 guy was very good as well, when he caught up he gave the 'hats off - you tanked me' wave and continued on his way. I suspect he may have thought he was going to dust just another Subaru Good to see two high performance cars on a back to back run and cheers to the M3 driver for being such a sport and making mines and no doubt Sg72's day

I hope not - I'd still like to be one one day Just as long as I have a 400bhp scooby for the weekends in the garage

I do, I really do but I don't think I can justify 400bhp picking its way up and down the A1 for 50 miles every day

Perfectly true SB.
As we know Scoob is a perfect all rounder on any road or condition.
Not best suited to M-ways Though IMHO.

Wonder if "Mr Merciless" above has considered one? M3 + Skyline PAH!

Does it go around corners as well? What suspension mods does it have over std Type-R?

(this is not a sarcy question, just prefer great-handling to brute force)

I have never been in a car that went round corners faster and I've been in with some great drivers such as Sipie and Andy F. I was defo becoming concerned at the speed it was carrying through the bends and it takes a LOT for me to be scared!

Yep, i can confirm that too.

Kenny, you know as you leave Haddington, heading towards E.Linton..There is a big sharp drop in the road where the new road meets the old...

Well, we hit that in Steves car pusjing on 100..and it didn't blink an eye at it..
If i do that in mine...it goes all over the place !!
