V5 Engine Layout
VW's V5 and VR6 are closely related, they're a very narrow angle V which allows them to run a single head, but the cylinders are staggered (according to VW promo blurb anyway, I've never actually seen either engine
)
Sort of like (looking from above):
O O O
O O O
Rather than a normal 6 that's more like:
O O O
O O O
The W8 is also based on the same idea, it's really 2 banks of 4 run staggered to create a narrower, shorter engine than a normal V8.
And 20V would be 5 valves per cylinder
