Default Laguna 2.2 DCi

I had a 3.0 V6 Laguna a few years back and it was a brilliant car. Very refined. Has anyone driven the new shape 2.2 DCi 150hp model? They're starting to look cheap.

I drove one before plumping for my Passat 130 (company car). Better handling / ride combo than the Passat but it still understeers.

I didn't think the engine punched its weight, it didn't feel like 150bhp to me. The VW PD130 felt punchier and stronger, whether it's a question of gearing etc I don't know.

Hmm, I've got the old shape Passat right now (115) and I don't really like it. It's feels a bit too heavy and it's too noisy at speed. Ride isn't the best either. Perhaps the new one is better in that respect? I'll have to give one a go.

They're good cars but I'd watch for the build quality. A friend ran a 1.9dCi 120 Dynamique Tourer for a while and it was shocking how many times he had problems with it. All the way from little things like the headlamp washer packing in to the turbo overboosting and giving up the ghost.

He also went through about 2 tyres and 1 alloy in a short space of time, due to potholes.

He's got a A6 Avant TDi now and is really happy with it, much better in every way.

Jlanng -- I think the sport suspension on the Passat does make a difference to the feel and ride.

I really liked the look of the Laguna dCi but didn't like the interior and was underwhelmed by the drive.

The Mondeo TDCi is a great drive, much better handling than the Passat and feels very nimble. Personally, didn't like the interior again but nothing wrong at all with the car, the TDCi motor is more refined and quieter than the VAG PD but IMHO has more poke than the Lag 150 dCi.
