Well for 1 grand less you can have mine which the turbo model.
It's a T plate so a year older but has 71k so 30,000 miles less.
It's got the tiptronic gearbox which was an option and climate.
Noisey front suspension is a problem on A4's, note that mine is silent.

I'd personally track down a 1.8T or 1.9 TDi if I were you.
The 1.8SE is 'ok' but you may find the performance a bit dull after a while and there's very little you can do about it.
Both the petrol and diesel engines are very upgradeable. The identical 1.8T engine in my car started at 150bhp and is now at 225bhp courtesy of the experts at Jabbasport, but with no ill effects on reliability, driveability or mpg. The 2 diesel A4's I had (1.9 and 2.5) both chipped safely as well - the 1.9 110TDi I had was 135bhp (from 110) and that was at a very safe setting.
I'd have a better look around if I were you.
