Check out this cool video. Sorry if you've all seen it.

PS don't stop it too early as there is a short race at the end where an AE86 kills an R34 skyline.
Somebody make it into a clicky if pos.

Yeah just shows you that the standard Skyline is packing far, far, far more than the standard 276bhp. It flew past the lighter 350Z, supposedly with the same power!

It was a bit of a fix for Nissan. Anyone notice how the Skyline held up the pack until a few laps near the end, by which time it was too late to catch the 350Z. The S2000 kept having to brake mid corner as it caught up the skyline. Would like to see the same race without the skyline getting in the way.

I know it was the camera car an dall but it did hold the others up.
The M3 driver gave up on the first lap cos he kept getting too close, so h ebacked off and waited fo rhte skyline to disappear.

is the 350z a skyline replacement? or just an addition to the range as such? 'cause the skyline spanked the lot so easily, just pulled out and tore past the 350z, i'd have though nissan would want to show the 350 being quicker.

yes the s2000 was surprisingly quick - not sure how you could ever compare it to a Boxster (apart from 2 seats and drop top) - p1ssed all over it! It was able to go into corners at silly speeds.
R34 is the daddy
Where can I get more videos like this?

That S2000 is surprisingly fast indeed.Revs it really hard as well as he keeps hitting the revlimiter.Meanwhile, the M3 driver keeps complaining about the car's weight ;-)
Most interesting is the last few minutes of the vid where a ae86 holds of a Skyline! Impressive driving (damn nice piece of road too). I wonder how much tuning was required to make that ae86 so fast (and handle so well)
cheers!

Not a very real comparison if you ask me.
I think the M3 and Skyline would have battled it out to a close finish with the damp conditions favoring the Skyline.
A Boxster S should have been included instead of the stadard one. At the very least I would expect a Boxster S to keep up with the S2000.
It pretty much looked like an advertisement for the 350Z, not saying the 350Z is slow, but how many times do you think you'll see a 350Z beat a M3 on track again?

Possibly some bmw M3 blinkers on?
The M3 is powerful and heavy and yes it will pull away from an S2000 or suchlike on straights, but when it comes to cornering (on a track), weight and nimbleness is what counts. Like someone said, the racing driver of the M3 in the video commented about the heavyness of the car.
Yeah, on the road, with it's traction control and stability gizmos the M3 will be a lot faster than many cars. However with 'proper' racing drivers behind the wheel on a track, cars like the S2000 etc. really come into their own compared to M3's.

I think the award really has to go to the S2000, simply for the silly speeds it was able to enter the corners at. It looked like it was going to smash into the rear of the M3. The M3 was much quicker on the straights - but that's testament to how good the s2000 must be on the bends - didn't finsh too far behind.
Was a little surprised at the 350Z - but then again is is 280bhp, lighter than the M3, so not a shocking result.
To be fair - the M3 could have done with better tyres...There is no way that a skyline can be 280 std - did you see the way it pulled into the front at the beginning and when it sailed past the 350Z
Good entertainment.
