Anyone know what sort of mods (performance mods, not gay body mods) you can do to a manual 2.5 Vauxhall Omega?

Not really considering modding but the idea popped in my head when my told my mate I'd just got an Omega V6 to which he replied 'Cool, a mini Holden'

Or any Omega/Vauxhall forums etc?

I agree with 16vmark. I have a V6 Calibra and the engine doesnt have a huge range of aftermarket stuff for it.
The stuuf that is available is either the usual "performance" airfilter or exhaust, that give negligeable gains, or decent stuff that does make you go fast but costs an arm and a leg.

The stuff worth considering is...
supercharging
camshafts from an omega MV6
enlaged throttle body.

as standard the engines dont gain a huge amount from superchip type products unless there are a lot of other mods too and you get a mappable chip like a Dastek.

Have a look on www.migweb.co.uk - a decent Vauxhall forum.

Hmmm, I wonder If you could squeeze in a 5.7 GM V8 aka Holdon Commador? Almost the same cars...then again, with all the trouble you might as well ship over a proper one from Oz

I'm certainly not interested in spending much (if any at all). A few hundred tops. Not looking for big gains, maybe just something so that it all runs smoother, free-er etc. It's not so much the power but the way it's delivered.

Lighter flywheel seems a decent mod?

Should I be looking at making the engine breath better - after marked air filter, induction kit?
