7 Seater MPV as 2nd car which one?
#1
Starting to look at 7 seater MPV's (Don't worry not selling the scooby! ) to use to kart the kids about.
Budget up to about £6000. Any good advice on makes, models etc?
Cheers,
Mark

I had two of the old shape Toyota Previas, both were superb and utterly reliable. Very comfortable and easy to drive, room for eight people AND their luggage - fold the back seats up, and it turns into a van with 5 seats - awesome. Great getaway wagon if you're off camping with mates.

We run a Zafira 2.0 DTi as a courtsey car
Must admit, well impressed with it. The flex 7 seating is the best of the lot. Had 7 full grown adults in there too no probs (bit tight way in the back though)
Well put together, nowt broke yet, and the diesel - once run in and loosened up is great. Suspension is soft and sick inducing for bad travellers (or is it my driving? ) But it does handle OK though. Brakes good too.
Other minus's are the "comfort" model which we have seems rather basic, although does have all the eleccy bits and A/c, and the driving position takes getting used too. Oh, and hardly any boot space when using the rear seats.
But the GSi Turbo seems a very tasty sprog shifter though (full leather, sports suspension etc.)
Also, curiously, I noticed it was only 1ft longer than my Nissan Sunny - which you need a prybar to fit people in the back

I work in the vehicle rental industry and have used all of the main people carriers over the past few years.
Galaxy TDi by far the best but go for the higher powered engine, only let down limited luggage space.
Toyota Previas, lots of room rear seats fold down to form a double bed drives like a barge lots of body roll. Diesel the best but only been out a couple of years so petrol may be your only choice at £6k (poor MPG)
Zafira great small MPV but prices a little high and very limited space with all 7 seats up, the fact the seats fold down is a bonus if you only need the 5 seats most of the time.
If it was me I would got for a 7 seat Shogun or Terrano, practicality of a MPV but all the fun of a 4x4
