Question

Anyone on here driven the Galant VR4? Thinkin of a load 'lugger' for the family trips!
280 bhp sounds good but is it that heavy that it feels like a 1 litre !

Hi mate
Yes I have a W reg VR4 Legnum (Estate)280 BHP tiptronic gearbox
All leather interior Climit Control blah blah blah
A great car IMHO
Book states 0-60 in 6 secs so its fast
Top speed 154mph
If you get a older car the BHP drops to 260

Cheers

They are fast- I've had a run in with a japanese Euro import a few times now and his top end is faster than a mildly modified Impreza.

Had one for 18 months, 97 saloon, took a while to like it after having a scoob, but I miss it more than I missed the scoob, a really good car and I didn't have to spend a thing on it, servicing was expensive so had a scoob/evo specialist look after mine

A really good motor.

45k service, around £600-700, cambelt alone about £400, specialist! £230 and he had a right job, didnt idle smoothly after.

Question

Am tempted at the mo.

Whats the history re model changes/features ie has it always had AYC/276bhp etc.

What do i need to watch out for if buying one?

Might nip over to the owners forum shortly.

No the Lignam is the Jap import version, if your looking for a fast load lugger have you tried the Saab 95 Aero estate only FWD but does add to the fun

Only the Aero model has a 2.3 HOT (high output turbo) the other models have LPT, the Areo is the fastest in the range and has better in gear times than Scoobies, Porkers etc due to the mass of torque it produces over 350 Nm.

Isn't 250BHP enough LOL, yep lots of easy tuning potential you will find it all on Saabscene

BTW before Mr Moderator jumps in, I am in no way connected with Saabscene other than owning a Saab
