What a great looking car, saw one in Imola Orange at the weekend, looks the business with the slightly revised body kit, head lights, rear clusters, front bumper etc..
Hmmm... shame STi8s don't sell for much second hand...

LOL @ selling the STI . I haven't seen one yet. Thought the previous model looked like it had no soul, if the new one is sexy looking then it will finally be a real Boxster alternative.
Happy new year matey!

@ Alex!!!
I've been taken around a track in an S2000 and I was very impressed!
A new shape would be good, as that makes the older shape more affordable!! I know Caroline would love an S2000!! Well that would be the excuse though!

I followed a dark blue 53 reg on Sunday with a hardtop on. Because of the hard top and seeing a rear quarter view at first I thought it was an MX-5. Similar integrated boot spoiler to the later MX-5's.

Here's a US version, very little difference between UK and US (exept they get the 2.2) I have a my 03 might even bring it to a Surrey meet if anyone was interested
Main differences on the 03 vs 04 - revised tail pipes, 17 inch wheels, revised chin spoiler, slightly revised interior, heated mirrors, some minor geom changes

ADP - yup that US one is similar, I think the front skirt is different on the '04 UK (could be wrong, usually ).
My local Honda Dealer is offering the Mugen kit as a warrantied option (carbon air box + zorst), alledgedly 15-20% ish power increase...
Think I'm going to wait a year before looking at this, get my moneys worth out of the STi first...
Guess I've been playing Need For Speed Underground too much, the Imola Orange one just looked awesome

I'm still trying to raise the funds needed to chop the WRX in for an S2000, my problem is I can only afford a plastic rear screen version which I don't like.
That US version looks almost perfect, would not want to change a thing on that baby!
At the moment I'm looking at the Elise, may have to make do with one of them until my cash is sorted.
Top class motor the S2K!

I do like these, is it true ot hearsay that you should check the oil each time you fill up with petrol as they use a pt or so every few hundred miles?
I have had a few vtecs and they use around a pt every 2K miles.

Those 'knee' vents are still there, just above the stereo door.
Oil usage - the s2000 can drink a bit for the first 10,000 miles, but after that they are fine, just check the oil every month or so. Once past 9000 miles, mine drinks hardly any oil. just a small top up every 2/3 months.

speak to ya soon.

fun but not quick enough.
0-60 is 5.5 and 0-100 is 14.3
That's faster than a std scooby.
I want more performance so I'm getting a westie

Diablo - they are indeed, and thanks for the welcome
I think I've cracked it, the plan is:
- dump the misses, and scrap the wedding plans, get a refund
- buy her out of the house and remortgage
Voila, STi8 stays, plus I get an S2000...
... or am I dreaming...
(joke - incase the misses reads it...)

Just to add my 2p-worth. I've had an '02 S2000 from 12k to 20k miles, and it's drunk about half a litre of oil. As for perfomance, it's certainly quicker and a standard '00 Turbo; it just delivers the goods differently. Don't get caught up in the torque numbers; drive it.
(Hint as to the performance; take a Scoob and the S to the top of a hill. At the same speed, knock them into neutral. The Scoob slows down twice as fast as the S; that's the drag from the 4wd mechanism)
