We used to own a MY98 Audi A4 1.8 SE...

Btu traded it in for:

MY04 Audi A4 1.8T Sport Saloon, this has the new ECU upgrade which boosts the power from 163bhp up to 190bhp.

It is the FWD model we bought as we dont justify needing Quattro for the use that this Audi gets.

The build on our MY98 Audi A4 was good, but this new one is in a different league, feels absolutely bombproof!!

The new sports come with a full bodykit which is subtle but aggressive, 17" alloys and lowered stiffened suspension. The car is quick, but VERY smooth so you dont notice the speed creeping up further and further...

I have a pic of the car on my home computer, and IMO it looks absolutely stunning, I will post it when I get home after work tonight!

Bright Red Bodywork, Aluminium Trim round the windows, grill, lower grill, and lower boot, we also got full black leather and aluminium trim strips put on the interior of the car which makes it a very nice place to be!!

Also, a love it or hate it thing, we tinted the windows with a medium smoke film........ It looks amazing IMO but will let you all decide for yourselves!!

Cheers,
Grant

It sounds like a very expensive way of buying a Skoda Octavia vRS.

Look forward to seeing the pics though, sounds like a nice looking car. Didn't know they offered the 1.8T in that "in between" state of tune.

Is the handling and steering a big improvement?

Grant, its not just a remap, the whole inlet side was reworked plus its got twin intercoolers like the S3 and S4 which the old 163hp models didn't have.

Turboboost, the A4 is a bigger platform altogether so you really cant compare an Octavia thats A3/Golf based just cos its got the same engine. A4 is in a different league quality wise.

Here are the couple pics I have of the car at the moment...

There will be more once its had the Zymol Treatment!!

Cupramax... I never knew that it was more than just an ECU re-map, but thanks for the information!!

The car does handle better than a standard A4 and IMO the steering response is great, BUT, the feeling you get through the steering wheel is a bit numb........ But it is a family 4dr, even though its a sports model, its got to appeal to the famliy buyer and so cannot make too many comfort sacrifices.

By the way, sorry for posting in Other Marques, I have just realised that it was a random thread and that there arent many comments people can make about this!!

Cheers,
Grant

Yeah re-sale it might not be the best exterior colour, BUT, we love the way it looks and it really does turn heads!!

Dont know what the relevance of saying it was owned by a gypsy was though?!

SCOSaltire... Yeah, got a few comments like that when we first got it, also got someone saying that it looks like a Taxi?! lol, I obviously havent been past any taxi ranks recently cause dont remember seeing any like that!!

It wouldnt have been my Scoob that you saw yesterday, cause its currently waiting assessment after a little incident that happened on saturday night... See my post in Scotland section for details...

Stu, no probs mate, I'll leave the Audi at home and bring the Scoob along........

Cheers,
Grant

Looks superb mate.

Although you should've wheeled the RS out to complete the photo.

Thanks Johnny...

I agree, the RS should have been out, but once the Scoob comes back, and I get enough time to wash and wax the Audi and Scoob I will do a nice little group photoshoot with all three of them gleaming!!

RS doesnt need polished, its been sitting in the garage shining for a while now...

Cheers,
Grant

I was gonna say that you should re-insure it, and use the RS.

but with the luck you've been having recently...maybe not.
