But didnt nick it. Gutted.
I have since found out that the central locking is playing up, and most of the time, about 5 mins after youve locked it, it unlocks (but doesnt disable the alarm). Car was parked in Vansittart Trading Estate in Windsor, under 2 security cameras and opposite a taxi office. Came back from DJing at about 3 and the passenger door was wide open.
First check was "have they nicked my Joey Negro CD from the autochanger". No. Whew. Hadnt taken anything, not that there was much worth taking in there.

Moden cars are hard to nick, know a lad who what's out of his 172, but no one wants it........He won't "forget" to leave the keys because he fears a none-payment by by the insuance.

Some goit obviously but his foot on my rear 3/4 and tried to rip the door off, went ot the car one morning and saw the top of the drivers side door about 5 inches away from the body!
Nothign taken (very odd), guess the alarm actually did some good.
Bodyshop pulled the door back into shape quickly (man put foot on door and jumped holding onto window frame, popped right back). Doesnt fit quite as good as it did (slight wind whistle at high speed) but looks ok at a glance.

Today I got back my RenaultSport Clio 172 mk1 from the garage. 3yrs old & 20k trouble free miles on the clock & it was in for a minor service. They discovered the alternator belt has started coming adrift & had damaged the cambelt
Service + alternator belt kit + cambelt kit + lots of lovely labour (big engine in little engine bay means alot of work to get at it) gives me just slightly less than a grand on my credit card

Daz - does that mean your car is over 3 years old? I'm assuming so otherwise I'd be expecting that to be covered under warranty?
Surely you'd be able to get some sort of contribution from Renault towards the cost?
