Question

As title says, my car is in dire need of a new clutch. What I would like to know is what make/type should I go for. Clearly the standard renault one is good as its lasted the 86k that the car has done but I'm not keen on paying for a kit from renualt direct as this will be big bucks knowing there prices. I dont want a performance one as theres no need as the car only has a magnex cat-back as far as mods go and I've heard that performance ones create an even stiffer clutch pedal than standard (this I definatley dont want).

Oh, and I need to sort the clutch soon as I want to sell it for a proper car!!!

Any comments gratefully received???

GSF have always done renault parts, used to be andyspares

Up to you, standard one is very good, or if you want uprated get the volvo/uprated r5gtt clutch, it bolts right on, its about 55 quid from GSF.

Ask on www.renaultsportclub.co.uk forums for the part number.

My girlfriend had the clutch changed on her old 16V Clio and it cost £320 from Mr. Clutch, everywhere else wanted a fortune cos it's a nightmare of a job.

o hyes, to do it 'properly' its recommended to have the engine out!

Can do it with engine in but makes it harder to line stuff up properly.

And thats for a 19, a clio must be a real bitch (hell you have to take the bonnet off to change the oil filter properly!)
