Skyline R34 GTR V-Spec

Has anyone driven one of these?
I was gonna buy an STI8 PPP in a couple of months but have been reading a lot about these. They seem to cost a lot more but can achieve massive BHP.
Thing that worries me is the ride is too automated, any help much appreciated.

hi m8
its not just the r34 but all the skylines R32,R33 that can all achive massive Bhp, the R32 being the less sophisticated and the lightest of the bunch and the R33 being the compramise between the two, all cars have the same block RB26DET(T?)but the R34 is all there to help you its mainly the 4WD system that comes in when it senses that you cant controll it

I had a 410BHP R34 VSpec. It was an absolutely monstrous car which kept a grin on my face all the time in any conditions. Only sold it ( to a local friend) because it was so esy to keep modding it to more and more performance. Another friend (who I originally bought mine from )has a VSpec 11 which has over 800bhp (and a sequential box) to go with it. He won part of TOTB this year.
Mine was fast enough. Absolutely spits my 993C4 Porsche (modified)into the weeds at all speeds. It was The only car I have ever done realistic top speed run in because it got up to this very rapidly.
I will not discuss on here what it could do.

yeah proper bo & if you dont want foot to the floor without any thought then get a rear wheel drive I wood think for the price of STi8 a la PPP you'd be looking more at a hellishly sweet R33 & bit of petrol money rather than a poor R34

Cheers everyone.
And thanks Si for all the links.
I have done some research on these cars but just wondered if the driving experience was as direct as a Scooby or Evo.
It looks like there are some great deals to be had with Japanese exporters!

I went from a tuned GTS33 to an Evo6 and the main differences I noticed;
1)Missed the glorious engine noise.
2)Missed the way it was so easy to provoke massive controllable oversteer.
3)The Evo feels lighter and more nimble, noticably quicker out of the blocks in the higher gears, but once the GTS gets into its stride it goes.
I now have an E46 M3 and a mate has had both GTR34 & E46 M3 and he reckoned the GTR was the quicker of the two, which suprised me as the M3 aint exactly slow.
GTR34 is still one of the cars on my list of 'cars I must have/experience' but at the moment used prices still seem very strong.
