partner at work is looking to buy one - probably about 2 year old one. any things to look out for, and are they any good? it's for his wife so it will do very little milage. all she uses her current disco for is taking the kids to football. wouldn't have one myself, of course.

Very comfortable, loaded with toys, handles like the QE2, go for the V8 or the diesel in terms of engine. I found the build quality to be fine.

Got one of these in the US for when I'm working over there. To be honest they're very good for what they are and reliability is excellent - 5 years old and no probs whatsoever.
Loads of toys, reasonably nippy (for the size and type of vehicle) and very comfortable - no great shakes in the handling department, but that aint no surprise really is it.
tiggers.

thanks
sounds like pretty much what he's after for his other half. as far as the handling goes, she is used to driving a deisel disco so more or less anything with 4 wheels will be an improvement. as for reliablilty and build quality, they are not exactly strengths of the old disco either.

Know 4 people in Canada, where I used to live, and three people over here who have had them, not one of them would buy another...seems to be a lot of irritating faults, nothing major, but there always seemed to be driving courtasy vehicles.
my two penneth worth.
Mark
PS they do look good though!

Just recently sold one and it was good car.
Only real problem was the brakes. Apparently there was a issue with the discs warping. Most dealers will fix it under warranty but a few will try to charge you for new discs as wear and tear.
I would buy another one.
