no probs hail-hail.. I'll help if I can. Although its worth looking at M5Board.com for more info..

Steve, sorry dude, live over on the otherside (west).. bringing a few "scooby" friends along, should be quite good to meet a few ex-scooby owners..
Come along anyways if you can.. Its not a requirement to have a bmw to attend.. after all, there are all sorts of performance cars!!

Hail-Hail...

I've had an M3 convertible and M5. I've just sold a Carbon Black facelift M5 (2001 model) and now I've got....an Xtrail diesel! Weird change of car maybe, but I'm doing many, many miles backwards and forwards to Scotland with two bullmastiffs, so it makes sense.

M5 was fantastic, M3 was a disappointment. If you want to know anything about M5's give me an email.

Cheers

Mine was x reg, 42k miles, carbon black, imola red leather, comms pack, glass sunroof, privacy glass, sun protection screen, voice control, etc, etc. UK car with warranty until April 2006.

I sold it for 29000 about 3 weeks ago. I had M5 5CUM number plate on it. I only paid 250 for it and the new owner wasn't keen on it. I loved it, certainly turned heads. If you want I'll ask him if he wants to sell it. I reckon he'd flog it for 250.

Cheers

Cheers chinny, that sounds about right going by the M5's I have looked at. Test the water with the plate, I will definaltley have it when I get an M5, but obviously don't want to but the plate until I get the car .
I am waiting for a property sale to fund the car, this will hopefully be January, but you never know.

Hail-hail...hope you have more luck on houses than us. We've "sold" ours twice on first viewings since Jan 03 and both have fallen through! The last one fell through about 3 wks ago. Pain the in the....

Should have a system like in Scotland. Make a formal offer and thats it, it is legally binding to stop these problems.

Tell me about it mate, I'm from Scotland

It's a second property so it's really just the car that will suffer. That reminds me, must find out about avoiding tax on a second property sale.

P1 Scooby: I didn't tweak them at all. They were just standard BM options on them. I'm not that adventurous. Changing the number plate is about my limit I'm afraid.

Hail-hail: where abouts in Scotland you from? I've just bought a house in the country near Turriff as a weekend/holiday retreat. Hence the big miles I'm piling on to cars now and the reason why I sold the M5.

Cheers

I'm currently putting together a shopping list of cars to look at for early next year. Currently have the folloiwing:

STi8 (new/nearly new/ex demo)
RX8 (new - probably have to be)
R32 (new/nearly new/ex demo)
M5 (3 years old - probably ex lease car)
A3(3.2) (new/nearly new/ex demo)

or

Golf/Focus TDi type thing.

Must say a 2nd M5 looks very appealing as I'm doing a fair few motorway miles atm, and I'd like something a bit more pleasent to drive/ride in. Having said that, if I get an STi etc. then I'll leave the car at home and start using the train. In some ways I'm looking forward to going shoppping, and in other ways, I'm dreading it.

Vantage in Leeds have just pi55ed my Mrs off big time, so the R32 might disapear off the list. They have a ex-demo/2nd hand black one outside atm, and a brand spanker in the show room. But she ain't going to let me buy a car there now, so have to go to another VW garage.

But a fully loaded 2nd hand M5....... it does it for me, I must say. Would want a 1/2 day test drive before commitment though.

Querty : Yes go for long test drive in all of those cars, you won't be wrong with the M5 though, have you considered the RS4? Still an excellent car..

Mark : cool,nice one.
