Had the car rolling roaded at 129BHP on saturday. Took car in this morning and had the timing set for optimum performance. Car was power run before and acheived 128BHP and after it made 136BHP. Torque was also up by around 6-8IbFt.

The power curve is similar till around 3000RPM and then the difference becomes visible. I will post the graph up later but its pretty straight with no peaks and troughs etc so im very pleased.

For £60 I thought it was well worth the money. No new parts and no long term problems.

£7.50 per BHP gained.... Cheap as chips

Much better than anything I've ever gained on my Pug. The power on mine always seems inverse to the amount spent

Well done !

They charged you £60 for altering the ignition timing and you got 8 HP gain? Or was that the price including the session on the rolling road?

Take a look at it this way, you put your car on the rolling road, you make x amount of power, the 2nd run will always show a "gain". This is the same trick used when upgrading to an induction kit.

Cosworth427,

A somewhat cynical approach

Unfortunatly I took mine back for a remap and it made 3bhp less at peak rpm! (and cost a couple of hundred quid). Thankfully there was a huge increase in power else where in the rpm range !

The car has been on the rolling road four times in the last few days and the 8BHP gain was after the work had been carried out, oh and yes it included the power runs.
Can feel the difference as well which is good .....

She has 107K miles on the clock and has been maintained by the same dealer / mechanic from new. Just goes to prove that some french clutter can be good and strong for a long long time haha

I love it, get almost as big a buzz everytime i drive it as I do with the scoob
