Is this right? Saw a snippet about it on the Auto Express website but it doesn't give a lot of info and there's nothing on the renault website either.

Same engine, with a bit more ummph. New look alloy wheels, and a new twin exhaust rear valance, similar to its soon to be released bigger brother, the Megane 225 Renault Sport.

Full spec is on Cliosport net.

Its pricier than the Cup £14,600 if I remember right with more toys and carries over the Cup's wider track and handling set up.

That would be due to the fact that it is NOT a replacement for the Cup, it's a re-worked 172 hence all the toys!

The Cup suspension is an option on the 182, as are Cup spoilers, but these will cost you extra and push the price over £15k

And no, they aint bringing a lightweight 182 out as a Cup replacement...

Cup is still the one to get - add the R- sport ecu and youve got about 180 bhp and more torque to boot

Nope, the R-Sport ECU actually gives little or no increase in peak power as I know people that have done before & after power runs...

But, the power & torque is improved across the rev range and makes the car stronger lower down the revs and there's more of a "kick" when it comes on cam at just over 5000rpm.

It improves driveability and increases performance, as has been proven, but doesn't give a bigger headline power figure on it's own.

Couple it with a de-cat, filter and exhaust though and things really start to get fun!
