So this is what happens when you turbo charge an integra type r, and I think you'll agree the results are pretty awesome!

well that's not the case here, I love all decent drivers cars. Scoob is a legend, it's just out of my price bracket at the moment, but one day!

Same here i'm just interested in cars/motorsports in general and i own a scoob but you would be amazed how many people have nothing better to do with their lives than register on here just to abuse scoobys and their owners.I'm not a Corsa fan but iv'e got better things to do than register on corsasport and abuse people with snide remarks after all they are hardly going to agree with my comments are they ? each to their own.Keep saving for that scoob you won't regret it dispite what some might tell you.

oh no, I am good mates with Edcase and been in his, and also came back to London from Trax in pauls Sti - both awesome cars - very quick, amazing grip, was fun even as a passenger.
And I have even today been looking at imported classics, TSL for an example have a couple of minters for £5-6k mark, which is very, very tempting, however, what puts me off is 1) the high insurance costs, and 2) the high running costs, which I would not get so badly on both counts with something like an integra type r.

Thanks Diablo, was beginning to think no one would notice it as a blatant **** take out of the usual SN response to a decent car other than a scooby.
awesome achievement. not sure of the complexities of turboing a vtec? doesn't the vtec cut in usually have to be removed?

Sorry if I misinterpreted your post jjones... :-/
Yeah I was thinking the same thing about the vtec and turbo. I was expecting it to not be able to get traction, but it seems to be able to put that power down on the 1/4 mile stretch. I can't believe they got 440bhp from a 1.8 - it's mad..

A Standard 'Teg would have most scoobs in the twisties..
You are having a laugh aren't you
There's not much in it on A roads... but twisties (dry or wet) is another story....
Mate of mine has his TEG and he has never even been close through the 'twisties'
Don't get me wrong, I think it's a great car with great engine and chassis but trying to keep it in the VTEC zone when the twisties actually get 'twisty' ie. hairpins etc is the huge disadvantage. Admittedly my scoob isn't quite standard so spool up is a bit quicker but I'm only circa 250bhp and the TEG has never even been close. Maybe it's down to the driver as I certainly wouldn't slate a great car like the TEG but it just isn't as quick in the few experiences I've had with it.
Do like driving the car but not the most relaxing.... I mean how much weight does a bit of soundproofing actually add in the big scheme of things

I must admit I been a few post 250 and even 300bhp scoob's and they do feel very, very quick, quicker thatn the Teg. Both fantastic cars, don't think you can really compare though, fwd vs awd, totally different driving experience. If cash wasn't an issues, I'd prolly go for a scoob, I only chose teg for financial reasons really!

SiPie,
Nope, I'm not having a laugh.
Must be down to the driver, I recon.
My standard teg was quicker cross country than my standard Scoob for the following reasons:-
Better steering feel
Much more progressive on the limit
Much less understeer, especially in the slower, tighter corners
Front LSD
No lag - instant throttle response
minimal transmission losses
And about 150kg less weight
There is no doubt the teg has the better chassis (having owned both)
Agreed the scoob has better traction, especially in the wet, but all this nonsense about keeping it in the vtec zone
A Teg's power band is basically 6,000 to 9,000 rpm. A uk scoob is appx 3,000 to 6,000. Both have similarly wide powerbands.
It is not difficult to keep a teg on the boil at any speeds - the gearbox is a gem, and the change is way better than a Scoob.
Many a scoob has been humbled by a standard teg at track days
The chassis really is as good as the mags say and any power deficit is more than compensated for by the extra speed you can carry into and out of the corners.
Maybe your mate hasn't found the cars true potential yet.

I second Diablo's opinion.
Qulified to comment as I own both an ITR and an STI as well as having had several 'classic' Scoobs. The ITR is a more focused car and will in the right conditons (if driven properly) be as quick if not quicker than a Scoob aroundthe fabled 'twisties'.
Please folks don't forget that the biggest differnce between two cars is always the drivers. If someone in an ITR is being left behind by someone in a Scoob on roads such as this then they are either not as good a driver or don't know how to extract the best from the ITR.
Took me around six months to learn how to drive the ITR to the best of my limited abilities and it is a wonderful driver's car - I love it.
Regards,
tiggers.
