Question

Has anybody part exchanged their car with a dealer for a cheaper car?

I have a car that is worth around 11K and for various reasons I am thinking about getting rid of it and getting something cheaper. I have seen a car that I am interested in at a main dealer for £6500 and was wondering what happens in these situations?

Would the dealer not be interested or would they give me a cheque for the difference?

Advice from anybody who has been in this situation would be gratefully received.

As above... they take the ****.

Sell privately, get more cash, then a fat discount on the car you really want. Sellers often get desperate... try and be patient. I know it's hard.

They try and take the **** to the absolute extream. I once had a R19 16V and wanted a cheaper runabout car at the time the R19 would have been worth about 6K. All they would offer me was 1.5K 2K max

Ooh this subject REALLY winds me up. I would LOVINGLY burn every last copy of the glass's guide, the book used as justification for totally, utterly and royally taking the pi** !!!

It's written for the trade, and it's the trade that benefits.

Sell privately if you can, it's just a bad time of year to do it
