I've got Blitz Sonic Induction, Magnex 6x4 oval backbox with a custom 57mm straight-through boxless catback pipe (well, the pipe was made at the weekend and should be with me soon ).
Just with the Blitz and the backbox, low down torque and responsiveness is improved. The straight pipe should make it even better, and louder
Depends on your budget really. If you can afford it, something like the GruppeM or Mugen airboxes are recommended, although quieter than an open filter. Personally I prefer the roar of the open Blitz with a cold air feed. Sounds incredible when the iVTEC kicks in
Exhaust wise, its personal choice again. Recommended are the Skunk2, ApexI Hayabusa and Spoon N1.
You'll get lots of varying opinions on the options here: http://www.civictype-r.co.uk/phpBB2

By the way, don't expect huge gains. My setup will give approx an extra 20 bhp maximum based on figures from others with the same setup, approx 217 bhp in total.
If you want real welly, go for the Jackson Racing Supercharger
Street- adds 50hp
Race- adds 90hp
300Bhp is realistic with Induction, Header and Exhaust with this A Hondata ECU reflash will let you rev to approx 9000rpm too, just ask Plantie

Does anyone know if the S2000 head will fit the CTR cos I know where I can get one cheap with all the bits inc cams....its supposed to fit but needs different manifold I'm told. Should give nigh on 40bhp gains done properly apparently.

To get an extra 40bhp he's going to need to do the ECU as well as induction and manifold + exhaust, I would think. Something like the new Hondata reflash.
Either way, I wouldn't expect performance to be increased much at over 130mph Its lower down the range you'll notice it more.
Edit: Problem solved - Sumo Power can do the GReddy turbo kit giving 60-70bhp for £2850+VAT.
OR
Stanwan has 240bhp odd with -
AEM cold air intake & air bypass valve (for hydrolock safeguard) £250
Generic Cat back exhaust £500
Hondata/HKS/Unichip ECU £600
Honda K20A (JDM) cams £600
TODA/Jackson/comptech manifold £600
Setup and installation £600
TOTAL £3150
VAT £3701

It was a classic silver one Looked and sounded fantasic and went like **** off a stick. Stuck with it for 1st 200meters. the WRC blasted the roundabout. friend slowed down cautiously, then nailed it off by that time WRX was well over 1/4mile away started gaining at 130 but by that times its all over
Still nice little run in the cool winter air
