Soft tops

Hi,
A Renault 19 cab has come my way very cheaply but it has an opaque rear window. I believe that it is beyond cleaning but was hoping that there might be someone that would be able to replace the rear window without the need for a complete new roof.
Any suggestions for companies that could either repair or replace the roof to a decent standard?
Thanks for your help
Simon

I know you said it appears to be beyond 'cleaning' but perhaps it's worth a try 'restoring' it with this product.
I have never used it and am not connected to this company but they have been around for a while.
My Boxster plastic window needs regular care as it can become cloudy. This is primarily due to a reaction with fumes coming from some of the other plastics used inside the cabin! Thankfully it is only a surface problem and I use the Porsche cleaner which romoves the haze, polishes the surface *IF you do it right* and also 'feeds' the plastic.
If it really is too far gone then you could ask your local friendly Renault dealer who they outsource their repairs to as it is possible that the top could be removed and a new window sewn in rather than just replacing the whole top.
Regards,

I use Autoglyms Super Resin Polish to get out light cloudiness. If that doesn't work a new rear screen can normally be sourced and replaced by marine sevices places ( boats have this problem with folded canvas panels with placcy windows in all the time), just look in your yellow pages. This will be a damn sight cheaper than a new hood!
Edited for shocking spelling.

Go to your local *spit* bmw *spit* dealer and get some cream cleaner that is supplied for the Z3. I use this on my S2000 and it brings it up a treat. Admittedly the S2000 plastic glass is a lot newer but the cream removes and cloudyness build up. It's only about £7 for a tube so worth experimenting. Need to do inside and out and a fair bit of elbow grease.

Thanks for the suggestions.
The car belongs to a friend - it's a bit of a heap really but mechanically sound. I bought one of Mark Underwood's products for cleaning plastic windows for him a couple of years ago but it did not touch the scratches/clouding when he tried it. Maybe a little more perseverence and something a little stronger - I've got nothing to lose.
I haven't seen the car for a while and can't remember the condition of the hood - may have to replace anyway. I've found:
www.soft-tops.co.uk
&
www.autohoods.co.uk
on the web. Anyone used either of these companies or able to recommend someone else?
Cheers

I got a mohair hood from autohoods. Not the cheapest, but I cannot fault it. Fitting was darned quick too. They are based just opposite Chessington World of adventures, so you coud make a day out of it if you wanted!!
