I would say its a RS2000 because of the position of the air filter/carbs. If it was a Mexico it would have a xflow engine where the air filter comes of the left side of the engine.

BLACKSCOOBY......

That is a real shame...at least your using the car the way it was intended!!!

I am interested in your arches...where are you?

I may be doing a similar job to one in the new year...any chance of some help/advice?

Russ.

Russ,

Its actually my brothers motor, the plan was to buy new Mex arches, rear 1/4 panels etc, but the cost of those was outragous for new panels. Therefore decided on standard panels with blister arches. All from Ex-Pressed panels. Word of warning its a MASSIVE job to say the least. My father runs a garage and has everything required to do the job including spot welders etc. The man hours put into it have been amazing.

The most worrying bit is buying new standard MK1 panels then cutting 3/4 of it away to fit the blisters

I know all about that...I was hoping you would volunteer to do the job having done it so expertly (creep mode on)on that car.

As Secretary of the AVO Owners Club I know how hard these things are...just not good at doing them.

We are hoping to re manufacture the RS flared wings soon.

How did your brother find the panels BlackScooby? I've heard a lot of bad reports about Expressed Panels quality

The front wings needed some extensive modification to get them to fit, but given the amount of hacking they got anyway to get the arches on it was really pretty irrelavent to be honest.

Forgot to take my digicam to the parents this weekend. Will take more pics next time I'm up. Starting to look more complete now with the rear primered up.
