If you're coming out of a Scoob to get one of these - DON'T. You will regret it !
If you are not coming out of a scoob then still don't do it - get a scoob instead. They aren't fast enough and the chassis is good - for a Ford - but it aint that good.
You can throw them about and they handle reasonably well - but no better than any other warm hatch - and they seem to be too pricey (espeially full retail). Money would probably be better spent on a VTS or similar.

When I test drove one I quite liked it!! Focus is def easy to drive, good visibility etc.....but I prefer my Civic Vti.......my fuel consumption is way better and the performance very similar! Also I think it will probably work out alot more reliable

2002 1.6 Zetec Focus and last tank I got 40mpg on optimax . Reliability, they must not sell Honda in Germany as the Focus came out top in their TUV reliability survey . Not bad for a car which costs £100 a year to service .

Cheers for all the advice.
I have got a MY97 turbo wagon and i know an ST170 is in a lesser league, i did take a 52 plate ST170 out for a 10 minute test drive, but it was far too short to make any decisions.
I agree with the huge power difference.
Will have to keep on looking and hope someone buys my wagon so i don't have to do a p/ex for £4500 !!
