Just had a go in one of these.
Kin ell they're fast.
More leather in it then one of McDonalds' slaughter houses.
And the noise that baby made. I'm still grinning an hour after having a burn
I wouldn't fancy its running costs. I did 20 miles in it and used almost (an idicated) 1/4 of a tank.
It was quite a spirited 20 miles and I never used 5th or 6th gear

My next car will probably be a 3200GT (used of course).
I can't believe people buy BMW M3's when you can get a low mileage used GT for the same price. IMHO far classier than an M3, quicker, sounds better, looks better and not as common.

My boss had one of these for a few days a while back and wasn't that impressed...said it was difficult to drive smoothly, edgy handling and had dodgy electrics and poor build quality to boot.
But then he was comparing it to his 360 Modena
IMHO it can't be a good sign that they've been trying to shift them by offering weekend testdrives

Guy near me has one... only spoken to him once... he is not happy with the way it drives. Also he wouldnt want to keep it too long just in case things start to drop off..

Build quality seemed good to me. The finish of the cabin was 1st class, too.
It wasn't easy to drive and needed all my concentration, but that made it a better experience for me.
The seating position was terrible. I'm 6' 1", so no giant and was stooping slightly so I could see below the ridge on the top of the windscreen.
They may not be the best made cars but the noise it makes and the way it just pulls hard to the red line, plus its looks make it a desirable package.
It'd be about 5 or 6 years old before I could afford one - not a good age for a Maserati!

I'd debate a GT being quicker than a new M3 (could be Ferraris over inflated power figures again). Was behind one on the Nurburgring and either the guy didn't have his foot to the floor or it was slower than my RX-7 in a straight line, tried it a few times to be sure before I went past him. A new M3 on the other hand stayed the same distance in front of me, I obviously can't guarantee the M3 wasn't modded (beyond having its limiter removed) but it certainly appeared to be a couple of cars lengths quicker through the 70-120 range.
Did sound very nice though

3.2 twin turbo, 370bhp & 490NM torque.
I suggest the issue is over-inflated ego's of BMW M3 drivers rather than "Ferraris over inflated power figures"

I'm not sure how the drivers ego affects the cars performance, but if it makes the car quicker I think I'll have to work on mine
I've nothing against the Maserati, looks really good from some angles and sounds great, just wasn't super quick.

I've driven a 3200GT a while back and I was very, very impressed with the performance. Having just got out of a Ferrari F355 to drive this, I wasn't expecting much, but the car felt just as fast, though in a different manner. Afterall, the Maserati is a turbo, and the 355 is normally aspirated...
Also, seemed to have very little lag, as a mate (when trying to overtake a Testarossa) put it in 5th instead of 3rd, still managed to whoosh past, despite the f**k up.
Mind you, I followed one back through some country lanes recently in my Scoob, and for all his trying, he couldn't pull away. Had the lanes been wider, I'd have overtaken - almost got alongside when common-sense reminded me that it really wasn't worth it.
Still - very nice cars.

The spyder and the latest coupe have NO TURBO's The car was re-vamped after the original model was critcised and the engine was replaced with a n/a 4.2 unit along with other changes. So the spyder and latest coupe should be a better car to drive. But I can't comment too much as I'm yet to drive it
Here'e the proper spec....
Displacement: 4244 cc
Compression ratio: 11.1:1
Maximum power: 390 bph / 7000 rpm
Maximum torque at: 4500 rpm 451 Nm
Performance:
Maximum speed: 283 Km/h / 175.85mph

That's the one, Ali.
Not sure what the performance figures are for these but the acceleration to a (cough) high number that may compromise a clean license (or even the license itself) was tremendous.

Wow.
Had another blast in it earlier.
Had a blast with an Evo 6 with the roof down:
He kept up til 50 and then it was curtains. By a ton he was 4-5 car lengths behing maybe more.
My Mondeo V6 was **** to get back into.
I wish I could type in a few letters that could properly describe the noise that engine/zorst makes.

"Glad to see that the record of no car ever in history out performing a Subaru in the twisties is still in tact"
Hmm. Wasn't meant to sound that way. I'm pretty sure he was gunning it down the straight(er) sections of the road, but I doubt he'd have risked crashing it to prove a point.
As for Subarus being outperformed in the twisties... depends on the driver doesn't it. I get overtaken by blind, one-legged children on scooters...
