Had a blowing exhaust on my 200 so I took it into the garage which does all my work for me. They said it was the gasket between the manifold and the turbo and they'd order a new one along with new mounting bolts as that would reduce the chances of it happening again. The parts came today, along with the price. Upward of 200 quid! I knew it would be expensive, but christ on a bike, this is taking the ****!.
Looks like chucking it sideways at every opportunity was a bad idea
ah, well. its only money..

How much!?

Exactly the same thing happened on best mates S14 200SX and the gasket was nowhere near that much! Jesus!

Whered you get the gasket from?

Or do you mean for the entire work? If so id not be that suprised as we did the fix on his SX and it was a right pain in the ***!

Red face

It could be worse, my power steering reservoir sprung a leak, Mazda only sell it along with the power steering pump So one piece of plastic costs a grand guess who is staying with the sticky tape fix

Ive had a few 200sx's and had to get that gasket replaced a couple of times. Cant remember how much I paid but it wasnt anywhere near that much. I think it must have been below £50 as otherwise Id remember it / still whinging about it.

I paid 12 quid for the gasket on mine. Takes about 3-4 hours to change if you do it yourself cuz the turbo has to come out.

Nowt wrong with Datsuns Marco! I love my Datsun Skyline R32GTR that ive jus ditched my 3door for!

Is it a S14 200SX? Later shape S14 with the nicer lights etc?

If so i dont blame you, they wildly underrated, esp when modded, one of my fave cars (2 mates have well modded versions so know how good they can be).

Older shape S14 is lame tho.

And S13s are cool when modded in a D1 style, but idve kept the 3dr.

Talking about the S14 reminds me that I saw a yellow S15 about a month ago on the M6. Lovely car but so rare.

yeah its the S14a with the nicer headlights. Curiously enough I got rid of the 3-door as it was casoting me too much money. Fate it seems has a sense of irony *shrugs*
astraboy.
P.S. Its not a Datsun, its a Nissan.

Aye, i got rid for a silly price, tho its not TOO bad bearing in ming the cars in bits at the moment (not knackered, all bits fine/new, just in pieces!).

I had to urgently as i came across the bargain of the century!

I wasnt going to as a decent but desperatly in need of mods R32GTR wouldve been 8k+, so was best off keeping my car, but this car was a different story...

Steve

for a Datsun R32gtr then yea... but not for a Datsun 200sx..

p.s i know which model you mean ...

show us some pics of your new car ...

i love my cossie and i wouldn't sell for any jap car. but i would buy and evo 6 or a 22b...

i just don't care how fast they are...some of the japs cars look s h i t e and styling is s h i t e all so...i have seen some jap cars with these big body kits and they look really s h i t e...

but thats my opinion...

Marco, thats the reason I got rid of the 3-door and got the 200. Its got exactly the same layout, Its more or less the smae power, I can drive it like I drove the 3-door, It'll donut like you wont believe and I can leave it on the street!
I loved my 3-door, but this is the best of both worlds.

LOL@That pic, i soo wish i had pics of my mates first S14a touring, black un like that, big front mounter, 18s etc etc, were drifting it around prefectly then it went totaly **** up and hit a light pole sideways at about 60mph, the dent started on passneger side and ended half way across the drivers side, only a foot wide dent, but went from one side to the other! even bent the tranny tunnel! Still somehow managed to drive it the 2miles home with both airbags blown, and the car bent in two! Drove straight as well, lol.

Now got an identical one, but hes not mashed it yet.

Love em i do.

Marco of course 3doors are good cars, they AMAZING cars! If this GTR didnt come up as a bargain idve kept the 3door, proper modern day classic beasts.

Soon as PassionFord works again il post the few pics i got, but theres already different bonnet and mirrors coming for it so the pics will b well outa date soon!
