I've got an upper limit of £25k, want 4 doors, decent space, maybe leather (not essential), but want comfort and decent pace.
Economy isn't a definite issue, but always a consideration and I want a nice looking motor - so no Scooby. No offence to anyone on here but I think they're ugly and my Lady hates their look.
I don't want anything more than 2yrs old, and would like a mainstream car so servicing etc isn't silly.
Ideas?
Edited to say, I've been banging about in A V6 Mondeo for the past few months and it's been the most surprising car I've ever had. A real peach, and economical too.

Sorry.
Forgot to add that I'd prefer a motor that is run in and has lost a bit of its initial value!!!
I've never done new cars. I prefer to let others take the depreciation hit

Fatherpierre,
How about a T or V plate M5. Maybe a 540i like Tiggs has just bought? Both cracking cars. A late E55 AMG is not out of budget either. Then there is an Audi S4 to consider. A late model 330d Sport or 530d Sport if fuel economy might play a part
You could have a 156 GTA Alfa, Holden HSV or R32 Golf for that kinda money too.
Decisions Decisions. Too much choice really. My brain hurts!

I'd go along with Matt. But don't discount a Volvo S60 T5 - great performance - SUPERB seats, not bad looks - get one with the full speaker upgrade and you've got one of the best car hi-fi's around..

Saab 9-5 Aero. Should be able to get a very high spec nearly new saloon for around £20k. Very quick, decent looking (IMHO), not too bad on the juice, very comfy (excellent seats for long journeys) and very safe too.

Thanks for the replies
I'm tempted by a 330i, I must admit. There's just so many of them about and a 540i with nearly 300 ponies to mess with also tickling my fancy.
The new Saabs look nice, too. Handling's not a particular concern, it can't be if I'm thinking of a 540i.
