And for an extra £280K you are into F50 territory.
I saw a dude filling this up with juice on Saturday opposite the showroom.
www.autocapital.ch
He left the engine running while he fueled it he must have been secretly wishing that it went up in flames because I can't see too many takers at the asking price CHF700K / £318K
He also put 95RON in! Doh!
Sounded nice though, although nowhere near as nice as the F360CS that was also being shunted around afterwards...

Might just be wild imagination but i had a bit of a thought Yesterday.
Whilst reading a classic car mag with the macca F1 in i scanned the for sale part.
328'S AND 308's are around the 30k mark. I sold my scoob a year ago for a new TT which i paid £28.5k for and never drive it. In a year i have done 4.5k miles only. So you can see what i started to think.
Any one have any links to web sites or have any experiences driving or being a passenger.
How quick are they and more importantly how much are the bits and servicing.
Many thanks

You can actually get a 308 for much less than 30k.
Parts and servicing is expensive, but insurance is much cheaper than you would expect.
Shame you didn't ask last week as there was a track day at Silverstone, where you could have received a range of opinions.
You could also consider a lhd newer model for a slightly more.
Try uk ferrari owners site (hope the link works).
If you are seriously thinking about this, let me know and I can provide you with details of a local meet, where you can ask owners.

Had a drive in a 328 a couple of weeks ago, probably not much in it between that and my scoob, I think the guy said the ferrari had 280 bhp, and the noise they make with the engine just behind you is just as nice as a decatted scooby, lovely!
Looks wise though, it looked like it just came of the set of naff eighties popular tv programme, very dated, IMHO the only people who buy old ferrari's only do it so they can say "hey I drive a ferrari" but that aint a bad reason for having one, and your right they are a lot cheaper to run than people imagine.

Thanks all for the replys.
Nicci, thanks for your help. I dont know how serious i am at the mo, will have to go and have a look at one or two. But to be honest i am a little worried to do so, because if i do and i like them things could get very expensive!!
Although i never thought i would own a TT so you never know. Think i'll wait till one comes in at my local Ferrari dealer near Bourton (cant remember the name).
Cheers

My brother mortgaged himself up to the hilt and bought a 360 spider. It was rosso, traditional manual gearchange, Daytona seats, Scuderia badges, it was the dog's danglies. But he only kept it 5 weeks. Why? I think the attention (good and bad) it garnered was totally oppressive, he felt he couldn't leave it anywhere, and was worried for his license the whole time - it was so loud, visually and aurally, it just shouted out "arrest me!".
If you do go down the Ferrari route, make sure you can live with it!
My bro's got a 325 compact now.

There is a chap tootling round our neck of the woods in a beautiful rosso 308 GTBqv. Awesome motor, a good example can be had for circa £24k I believe.

Hope this helps, those servicing costs look a bit steep!

I drove a 328 at Silverstone and was very disappointed. It made a fantastic noise and pulled like a train but it was a lumbering hippo through the corners and not very rewarding. The whole experience was dominated by that seductive engine but as a drivers car it was way off the pace.
As you can see they can cost an absolute fortune to keep on the road. I mean £1500 for a service sounds horrific - and that's before anything has gone wrong.
IM(very)HO you should only consider a modern Ferrari if you can stretch to a 355 or higher (if you can manage all that social baggage it brings). Otherwise if you have £30k and want something special, then I think it should probably have a flat 6 and a badge from Stuttgart....
