Hi whats the better golf ?? Been looking around and there is the 1.8 Turbo and the 2.0 GTI whats the better ???? The TDI seems the most popular but i'm just not a diesel man..

1.8T is a better bet than the 2.0.

Lots of folk on here really think the TDi is a better bet than the GTi 180 T Petrol-personally I'd go with the petrol and get it chipped but I don't care about saving a few pennies on fuel.

that said a modded Tdi 150 or 130 for that matter is no slowcoach. I think the chipped 180 T would have the legs of either of them though- or perhaps someone knows different.

nah we don't need to go through that again. Let's just stick to which is the best golf and why!

I'm quite happy to say that the diesels are very good cars- perhaps just not as ultimately quick as the petrol 180T when both are modified. Or maybe it is? I'm sure someone will let us know.
