News page in this month's evo mag confirms that Subaru are looking at a diesel (probably Opel) for the next generation Impreza.

Obviously they are worried their position is slipping and they need a new performance flagship

I thought I should advise you early so you can prepare yourself in advance of the launch (buy a new comfy seat for that "you'd better sit down" moment, extra stocks of "stiff drinks" and boxes of hankies )

 

It won't be a performance one though will it Mik?

It's 0-100 time will still be too slow and we all know that real world performance in the twisties counts for nothing don't we?

Seriously though it is intersting that they don't have a diesel in their range and at least if they're buying one in they won't have to spend too much money on R&D for it so maybe the prices of the petrol variants won't have to go up too much to fund the agricultural derivatives.

So who's left not producing diesels then? Just Lotus, Porsche and TVR? Any others? They need my support
