Best Tyres for Celica GT4
#1
A mate of mine is having nothin' but trouble finding boots for his GT4 (Carlos Sainz version), which is currently running on wide 15" wheels so that he needs 215/50/15 tyres. He claims the only ones he can find are Goodyear Eagles and is bitching like hell (quite rightly so I reckon) that he goes through a front set every 7K.
Now despite the fact that he is using Toyota's factory geometry settings which might be part of his problem, can anyone help out a poor sod who has yet to discover the delights of Scoob ownership?
Ta in advance

Try General Grabber XP2000, bloody brilliant in all weathers and last for ages...got a pair on rear of my turbo Supra, lasted well over 15k miles and still plenty of tread on them and they stick to road like **** to a blanket

Fronts will wear I'm afraid, its a heavy car.
But to answer your question, for the dry, any old tyre but for the wet, Toyo T1-S. Had them on my GT4 and swear by them in the wet.
Cheers

It's an odd size. Worse for the ST205's. They are 215/50R16. £180 a corner.
I just changed to 205/55. Same rolling diamter almost. You can go to 225 otherwise. I'd replace all four and move away from 215 though. Otherwise it's cheaper to buy new wheels and tires.
Shame. I just sold some mint Sainz alloys with brand new tires for £100.
