Will someone just go and meet Mycroft, have a look at this frikin' car, and let us know whether he's for real or not?
Its amusing and all, but Im getting curious as to whether he's more than just a class wind up merchant.
Soarers are ugly cars though, even if you could make one faster than a Lambo or whatever, why not start with something nice and make that into a Lambo beater?

They are silly those RS6's, its all go, no show, and a performance car should have a good balance of both.
If you want supercar performance, buy a supercar, a quick family car gives no sense of occassion, doesnt generate any excitement to look at, and isnt something that kids will put on their wall hoping to own one day, so they completely miss the point, and cost you £50 thousand pounds doing so.
They are what stuffy execs dream of, and as quick as they are, dont give what a performance car should give more than anything, a passion for the car.
I dont care if Mr Exec can travel in comfort at 150MPH with his kids, wife, and three family dogs in the back, give me something exciting any day.
Edited to say: ugly pics Mycroft

S'pose that's like the kid that never discovers sex and remains a virgin all his sad life... I think you haven't grown at all... but you agree anyway...
Once you have spoken you never need speak again on the subject...

Ah, but I said I wouldnt bother growing up, not that I wouldnt bother discovering new things.
You actually learn 85% of everything you'll ever use, as a kid, and often that kids teacher is fit, and horny, and quite happy to teach the kid a thing or two about losing virginity, so not all bad....
Edit brought over from last page, for Mycroft:
Edit: and I am old enough to drive, almost too old to drive, I have a very expensive to run 3rd gen RX7 Type-R, which has a nice blend of looks, and a good bit of performance....on the odd occassion it actually runs properly

Thats the one!! you know them then, cool.
I feel very proud driving a rollerskate that keeps so many midgets out of the circus, and in meaningful jobs.
What has a soarer ever done for humanity? hmmm, an ugly family car desperately trying to be a "sports" coupe, and failing dismally, not a lot then, but never mind, im sure someone will fight their cause, maybe even tune one to beat a Lamborghini, and....na, what am I thinking, nobody would be that stupid......
Edit: I prefered the post before you edited it.

Atleast the Soarer JZZ30 was designed from the ground up as a 2 door coupe unlike the cut-n-shut roller skate you drive... that started life as joke and has died as one...RX8...retch-up-on-a-plate

Hehe, yes Mycroft, from the ground up, all new, you keep believing the hype, we all know its a poor attempt at a coupe built using spares from the Corolla parts bin, and dumped onto a Hilux chassis, Toyota sure have the wool pulled over your eyes, how sad, a Soarer fan that actually believes everything it said in the brochure, ho hum.
Edit: you ever seen an RX7 engine? they sit very low in the chasis, and are very well weighted because of it. Rotary is for enthusiasts, Ill agree, but at least its worthy of enthusiasm, a Snoarer would never generate the same enthusiasm, except from "I read the brochure" Mycroft of course

You would need upgraded suspension to get ahead, ive only got stock, but never mind, you can take a 100BHP and aftermarket suspension setup, and we'll see how we both do.
I dont mind having a go just for the fun of it, and the fact you're so overconfident either means you are a very good driver, or you havent raced many cars in the real world, we can see which it is.
Edit: oh, is that the stock stuff on the Soarer? did it say that in the brochure?

I said I liked Soarers and proclaim!!!
A soarer needs 800-900bhp,be fully stripped, and see no corners to do 190mph.
Your car is good with 400bhp but is big, heavy and corner like so.
as do Astons BMWz etc
you car has weight and mass to of the main things that stop a car doing high speeds.
I live near and will teach you maths for a small sum!!!!!!

It is more accurate than you posting times from a 2002 car instead of the 1996 car... you are the fool here little fella... no offence...
Keep on digging amigo.
You sure it wasn't a 3 door Nissan Cherry 1.3LX and you just 'thought' it coulda been a lambo?
POS no matter what you do
hahahaha

I'm using software that takes actual gear ratios, not mph/1000rpm figures and I'm too lazy to work it out. Current computer model is using the gearing from the US market 2.5 non-turbo SC300 which is longer than all of the threads on the 190mph Soarer put together. I reckon with the correct gearing, the computer model will definately crack 190mph and will certainly improve the 1/4 mile time.
I'm a believer (of sorts) in the M-Soarer
EDIT: OK, thanks for the info, give me a while to modify my model

Sorry, getting columns mixed up...
Brochure:
280ps / 276bhp @ 6,200rpm
torque 37.0kgm @ 4,800rpm
Brochure lists two weights 1550kg and 1825kg, guessing one may be dry weight and one maybe laden weight?

OK, using the figures quoted here, and Mycrofts own power figure:
0 - 60 4.96
1/4 13.3@111.7
Vmax 181
To meet Mycroft's claims, the computer model need around 450bhp, so not that wide of the mark.
The same program puts the 1991 Diablo at:
0 - 60 3.8
1/4 12.4@120.1
Vmax 205

Are you beginning to see what I mean now?
###
Lmao - how can someone in a Toyota be a badge snob? I think if you read between the lines he doens't want to get beaten by an Escort.
###
I look down on everyone no matter what I drive... it is not Badge snobbery, it just plain snobbery, I hate riff-raff... Read it what ever way you like... the car is a piece of junk and I won't race junk... it is just too demeaning...

So, you're backing out of racing then Iain? Firstly your criteria is at least 300bhp, then suddenly the opponent must also pass a mysterious 'MyCroft' suitability test?
Seems to me you and your Soarer are pretty quick at back pedalling too
Oh no, I forget - it's too demeaning to race. Or is it too demeaning to loose?
