I've just picked up a 1989 G plate 205 xs for £300. Metallic Grey, mot December, tax September. Totally original too-even got the standard stereo(boo). And its so much fun to drive. I'm off to attack some B-roads when I get home tonight. Lift off oversteer here I come...

these cars are massively underrated- almost as quick as a 1.6 GTi and as much fun. So much fun for so little cash, I think you got a bargain.

I had one of these. Twas a G-reg too IIRC. Absolute pile of sh1te 
Hated every driving moment in the thing. Gearbox was about as tight as Alicia Douvall.
But, hey for £300 you can't complain.

I used to have a 1.9 GTi-I've sung their praises on here before. I'm just looking forward to some twisty roads tonight.
Gearbox is tight on mine. Not the most positive things on 205's but you can change gear quickly enough.
