Thumbs up

Got a second hand focus, and it seems to drive ok except for low-revs accelleration.
If I floor the throttle in any gear except 1st at between 2,000 and 3,000 rpm the car starts judderring violently until it gets ot about 3,200 rpm then it stops.
This happend in all gears (included 5th when I'm doing about 65 on the motorway at just under 3,000rpm).
Any ideas what could be causing this? I can't afford to take it to a dealership this month, but as I know very little about the engine workings an fueling of a car I'd like some pointers for when I do go to the dealership.

Cheers.

Don't know if this is the same thing but when I had a 1999 1.6 Ghia focus as a company car it was recalled to have an adjustment done to the ECU due to an intermittent power problem found on some cars (not my one particularly but lots of others were apparently).

Might be worth finding out if it affected your model and whether the recall was done....if you have FSH there should be a certificate stamped by a dealer stating that the recall was carried out.

Hope this helps!

Wasn't that, it was only '99 - '00 models, mines a 98.
If I disconnect the battery will that reset the ECU and force it to relearn itself? It might help yes?
