I don't doubt NOS is good but the runs did look at tad staged to me wasn't the first run 18 seconds, then the second 13...I dunno, 5 seconds is a lot over a 1/4 mile

Hi
The nitrous system fitted to the Jag was the same as fitted to my Cossie. It really does work well; mine has a progressive 75shot & on full bore is manic. Without the Nitrous mine was dynoed at 500+bhp & 490ft/lb so pushing 580 i suspect on the gas. If your banging in large ammounts of Nitrous (200bhp in the case of the Jag)a Progressive controller is the only way to do it.

The 996 Turbo's are so quick that you'd wonder why people bother with the GT2.
Motortrend (US magazine)
996 Turbo
0-60 mph: 3.9 seconds
1/4 mile: 11.9 seconds.
EVO
996 Turbo
0-60 4.1 seconds
0-100 mph: 10.0 seconds
The remaining cars that should have been in the low 13's bracket under good weather and a good driver are the NSX, Corvette and the Venturi.
That 360 Modena should be hitting mid-12's.

GT2 is 10% lighter, has 10% more power, carbon ceramic brakes, rollcage as std. no driver aids PSM or TCS. Scary canary.
Comparing an X50 996 Turbo with a GT2 would be interesting though.

0mph-120mph a GT2 is 2.2seconds quicker than a Turbo (12.4 vs 14.6s). Quite a difference.

Unless you want to race professionally or just a rich wannabe, ceramic brakes and 2 seconds difference to 120 MPH wont really mean much, especially when you're paying £60,000 on top of a price of a Turbo model.
Then there is the GT3. £20,000 less than a Turbo and is just as quick on the road. Again, it wouldnt really matter what the small differences in the on-paper specs are when you'll rarely be in a situation where that difference will be seen.
