You may find this useful from Ivan who is actually here setting up an event for tomorrow at Prodrive-live
'In case of any confusion or questions regarding BMW M Power high performance driving courses, please feel free to ring me, Ivan Thompsett, on 07889 768204. I manage the BMW M Power Institute, and am also running a track day for M Power owners on 31st May at Silverstone'
Hope this helps

Hi Tang,
Mine is secondhand too. You should ring the M power Institute number and see if the voucher has been used. Apparently all M5's and Z8's come with a voucher that transfers from owner to owner until it is used. My car is 2000 X reg and it hadn't been used. They only run once a year I think so you might get on the one tomorrow.
Cheers,
Chinnybloke.

Gents,
Just called Ivan, the voucher doesn't tranfer from owner to owner, it is only available to the first registered owner. The courses are heavily over-subsricbed, but you can pay (approx £500 per car)to attaned should places become available.
Ivan gave me this number (0800 777 115) and said that I could ring and register my interest such that if and pay-to-attend days were organised they would contact me.
Seems a bit pricey to me especially when you can get John Lyons for much the same over a period of a couple of days.
Will register anyway.
Cheers

Hi Tang,
I have just spoken to Alexandra on 0800 777 115 and she said it does carry forwards and is free if not previously used but the May one is now fully booked. There might be another one around September.

Fantastic news, the voucher for my car has not been used and I can redeem it for no cost!!!
No dates yet but sounds like fun.
Will let you all know how it goes. Is anyone else down to do this?

Excellent! Well worth it.
The course consists of pairing up with another M5 owner plus an instructor. You go out driving your own car first on the road so the instructor can see your normal driving style and highlight better road position, braking, hazards, being more aware and alert to potential dangers, etc, etc.
You then go on the Prodrive track with 330 sport saloons to learn about car dynamics, how effective ABS is, how effective DSC is, smoothness of braking and pressing the loud pedal. You do some other stuff, then out again in your own cars on the road before being allowed to take your cars onto any of the areas you did earlier in the 330s.
The day flew by. The instructors were great. Excellent day.
