Question

Anyone know of the top of their heads? Just curious to see how UK fuel stacks up against VAG's stated cetane requirement for the PD motors (minimum 51 CN).

Ta!

According to this website:

CPL Diesel Specs

Their "City Diesel" has a cetane number of 51, but their Ultra-low Sulphur has a cetane number of 49.

Surely it's better for performance to use the higher-cetane rated City Diesel? I wonder if the difference is the same for other oil companies' diesel fuels?

Anyone know more about this stuff?
