Question

Right,

I have owned three Stis and 1 Evo 4 (amongst other things, but this is mainly a post on Jap cars). Currently running about in an old BMW, but am looking to change. The list of possibilities is longish, as I have not decided how much I want to spend yet. What I am looking for are opinions on all the below from people who have onwed/driven them, on, well, what they are like to drive and own.....

I will be using them daily, but in a very inconsistent manner. Some days pootling around city centres, others all day on motorways, and hopefully some time on country roads....

The car that I am after will be fast, handle well, sound great, not break the bank to run, and be comfortable in a variety of roles. I do not care overmuch about image as I buy on the basis of what a car is like to drive, but would rather not have a car that encourages other drivers to treat me like **** on the roads, nor one that attracts vandals..... here's hoping. For reference, I can just about handle the image of the Impreza and Evo from experience. What would you buy and why? Also, if you can give me an idea of a sweet-spot-in-the-market price for each, I would be happy!

Supra Twin-turbo
300Zx turbo
Skyline GTR 32 or 33
Mazda RX7
Integra Type-R
Impreza Sti Type R or RA
Evo5 GSR
Soarer Seriously Mycroft, convince me about this car. Is it the bargain of a lifetime?
M3 evo
Old M5 3.8
Nissan 200sx

Thanks all

How about a titanium coloured elise for 14k

p.s. found the locking wheel nut tool, was hidden next to the tyre weld.

Lol, so you got the front clamshell open then? I was well-embarrassed about that!! How's she running? You started modding yet?

Wink

I presume, from past experience, that you are trying to be as insulting as possible within the context of my post then Mycroft?

ZX300 is ****e, RX7 does 15mpg and you might not fit if you're tall. It is an awesome machine though! R32 looks well dated. M5 is a big gay mobile. Evo 5 is a fuel guzzler too, although a damn good motor, the 6 GSR is much better. Integra is a tasty number, esp if you want the odd track day, and they are cheap to keep. Difficult to extract more power from them, and not 100% practical.

The ones to go for are the R33 (ultimate?) very tuneable and not much will touch it. Plus you can say you own a skyline! M3 is quality German grunt, nice cruiser, straight line legend etc. Supra is a bit **** star, but still must be an awesome machine, probably a nice cruiser and I imagine wheelspin in all gears would be nice if you tuned it

A mate has a 200SX new shape, and its a nice cruiser f*ing cheap o buy for a new shape with low miles, economical, very modable etc.

Soarer - surprise element, and I considered one but was scared off by anything going wrong. Although most owners cant fault them. Big power too.

Just my thoughts

But...you cannot beat the scoob for all round everything from above.

Cool

Have a look here. Just made a similar decision though only between the R33 GTR and the Supra Twin Turbo.

I'm buying the Supra.

Tractor, yeah, front clam is a bit sticky but is ok now. fitted a de-cat, took hours to saw of the old bolts, sounds great though, no other mods planned, sweet the way it is.

Mycroft, yeah, i know about the problem with the footwell corrosion, mines seems flat, no lumps or bumps.
