Anone recall the 205 Rallye or Nova Sport?

Not some sad tart up editions from the local dealership, but the homologation specials built by the factory intended for Group N or A rallying.
From memory, the 205 was the original Rallye model before the 106, in white/Peugeot stripes with LHD only, big carbs (twin Webers?) lightweight trim etc. and around 100bhp. These things used to mop up in the 1300cc Group N class. Not seen one on the road for many years.
Ditto Nova Sport, based on the SR but again with twin carbs, different cams and close to around 100bhp. Again a great Group N car, but an even better Group A car. Only 500 made IIRC.
Anyone remember 'em, or driven/owned one?

Nova sport, 1.3 twin 40's and different back box i think it was, red if i remember right, didn't think it was cammed but it was close to 100bhp
Dont know much about the rallye but there is one near where i work and it's rhd, no thrills, nothing electric, similar sort of idea to 106 as you say

Yeah, the Nova Sport was a bit of a weapon and I always fancied one.
But, there's been enough talk of the Nova, now it's time for the Pug!
The 205 Rallye was white or yellow but there was a 1.3 AND a 1.4 version of it...
The UK cars got the 1.4 engine from the XS with a single twin-choke carb and had 85bhp, but the cars on the continent got a tweaked 1.3 engine running twin Webbers and kicking out 103bhp!!!
The 1.3 car weighed less too at a mere 790kg, while the 1.4 cars were a shade heavier at 820kg, but neither was exactly "lardy"!
In fact, the 1.3 Rallye was just as quick as the 1.6 GTi.

Yup, just like what he said.
The UK got the dumbed down version of the little pocket rocket.
I guess most of them found their way to the stages eventually.
I've got loads of copies of Rallysport from the 80's and the new fangled Nova is advertised in a few of them. Complete with prices for go faster bits. £15 for a front spoiler sir? £40 for some skirts sir? Rear spoiler sir? Go faster graphics sir? I love it!
There are loads of 106 Rallyes that are used as rally cars. Yet the car to have in the 1400cc BTRDA championship is still the Nova.
160bhp from a 1400 isn't bad eh!! I'd have one of the kit car Micra's though. Very tidy.

There is a totally mint/clean/straight 205 Rallye around my area.
NO mods at all to the exterior (still on white steels) and i think the interior is all standard too. Only mods are to the engine, still a 1.4 but with twin 40's and a different cam.
Very nice car..
