Apart from the obvious and often discussed Lotus 7 replicas, what else has had the treatment ?

Mini's would be an obvious recipient and I have seen a MK2 escort in a video with a Fireblade engine.

I think ZCars have just stuck a couple of R1 motors in the back of a Mini.

They have indeed. Bill Sollis claimed it is the quickest car he's ever driven...

I want.

Bike engines only really work in very lightweight cars as they don't really have the torque to drag anything more (unless you think of supercharging or turbos).

You can check out our Hayabusa powered Westfield XTR2 here http://www.xtr2.net

I've also seen a mini with a ZX12 engine, wide track and converted to rear wheel drive - now that looked like fun.

The bike engined Mk2 escort (White, orange and yellow) looked like fun. But unless the car weighs less than 700kilos (including the engine) I would seriously think twice.

Most of the twin bike engine cars are certainly fast in a straight line - but I've never seen one that handles as well as the regular layout cars.

The bike-engined Escort in the video makes a lot of noise, and a lot of gearchanges, but doesn't actually seem to be going that fast

SL2, thanks for that !, that thing is a work of insane genius and that guy deserves a medal (Tug ?), have done a bit of research and he is building a Hayabusa turbo engined Bond Bug having sold the R1 engine one, would expect it to be a couple of seconds quicker but of course Mycroft will beat it, goes without saying really.

That video made me laugh out loud, 12.31 1/4 mile, most amazing thing is it looked stable, almost as if it came from the factory like that, was expecting it to be a scary looking ride but it just went without any fuss (then again I wasnt driving it ), wouldnt fancy twisties though.

You should go in it then lads it's such a mental feeling. Weve had it on 2 wheels on a bend before out on the roads near me racing a 1200 bandit.

The lad who originally built it is builiding a hayabussa one at the monent complete with evo 6 turbo strapped to it i think it's nearly complete.. I cant wait o go in that thing.

BTW the bugs for sale if your intersted mail me as in profile and i will send deatils on to you. It's up for 5 grand.

We did a magazine shoot for revs a while back at york. As you can imagine all it did was spin in all 6 gears as it chucked it down. We were sideways in it the lot lol now that is a mental feeling. Couldnt stop grinning.

J4CKO

Here's some information for you:-

The Manufacturers of the Mini

Quick overview for a magazine article

Your best bet would be to buy Mini World as it's got a 3 or 4 page article on it, along with photo's of it drifting round a track!

Patt, looks amazing,

is it a quick as the specs suggest, i.e. does it handle ?

Love stuff like this, as long as its not a Standard Silver German car I am happy.
