Who has driven a Twin-Turbo Soarer?

Pepper... cut and paste 'Henry Root letters' into your search engine... then work it out for yourself...
Troll... why would I kill his favourite pet and post it back to him? It's the only pal he has...

Not yet, I believe they are quite interesting car technically though.
Are they useable as a daily driver? Where can one get an import serviced? Is it a Toyota or a Lexus? Does it feature similar build quality to the LS400 for example?
They also feature active suspension I believe, is this tempramental?
All answers gratefully received.

Technically they are quite unique... 17ECUs in even the base model... 29 in the Active...
Are they useable as a daily driver?
Very usuable... V8 or TT though the V8 is a cruiser and the TT a bit of a discrete tear-away.
Where can one get an import serviced?
There are lots of places now... if you live in the South we now have a Soarer specific garage... they know masses of stuff. Cheap to run.
Is it a Toyota or a Lexus?
The Soarer was marketed as Lexus in the States and is built on the same line as all lexus big cars...
Does it feature similar build quality to the LS400 for example?
Yep, exactly the same quality.
They also feature active suspension I believe, is this tempramental?
Yes, and to the second question No!

Not the same, but I have driven my Brother in laws Lexus Soarer V8. Fantastic technology on a car of that age! Handles well (for a V8). Like the projection dash, and the indicator toggle is sweet! Also like the twin mechanism doors, and the indicator "helper" lights!
BTW, does anyvody know how much it is to convert the stero/satnav screen to English with UK GPS maps etc?

They sound pretty good. The V8 is slower than the TT model though? Does the V8 not have the turbos then?
I'm based in the North for the moment so that is a concern of mine. If they are so cheap then I guess they must be a bit of a bargain then. I will have a look at your website.
Thank you.

I have done some work on my car...
I tend [now] to keep the tricks to myself... that way I stay ahead of the rest...
I will tell you that I run a basically standard TT but with some rather clever simple mods...
Once I know people well enough and I know they run Soarers they are shown some of the stuff...
My cars Handling/Roadholding is the real revelation to most people, I run some very sophisticated Susp. program and used that to start on the cars set-up and I then finished the job on the road...
To drive right around an EVOs'/Scoobies on the track whilst it is cornering is something that puts the fear of God up most.

So they are cheap to modify as well. I am becoming increasingly interested.
I'm more interested in the handling than outright speed as well as cruising capability. This car may be the exact thing.

Dear Pepper,
I have no idea what your beef is with the other user but I am not him. I have a genuine interest in cars and these soarers sound pretty damn good. Try chilling out a bit dude.
Currently I'm in a Subaru but I'm the sort of bloke who likes to change cars often just for the hell of it. These sort of posts help to decide what to look at next.

nacro, I don't know your budget, but I am trying to get a Soarer sorted for a near neighbour who has £10k to spend. For that he will get a '94 Soarer TT with about 40K miles on the clock, it will have electric everything, auto-operating lights /wipers /Dipping RVM, modded to produce 370hp, running 17×10 and 17×8½, Pilot sports, new bushings, 4pot brakes, leather, the whole nine yards... It will with 370hp touch 183mph... sub 5 secs 0-60... and is discrete and quiet as a mouse...

He's been very helpful to me so far. I prefer to judge a man as I see him rather than listen to hearsay and what happened in the past.
As for my budget I was looking at a little more than that but perhaps I won't need to spend it. I'm going to have a good look at the site you mentioned and will see you there,
thank you Mycroft.

Go there go to the soarer bit.. and ask anything you like and address it to Rand/ Bill/ Loaded/ Superchargethis... any of them and get a different slant on the same car.
